【摘要】:Ground-watermodelinghasbecomeanimportantmethodologyinsupportoftheplanninganddecision-makingprocessesinvolvedinground-watermanagement.Ground-watermodelsprovideananalyticalframeworkforobtaininganunderstandingofthemechanismsandcontrolsofground-watersystemsandtheprocessesthatinfluencetheirquality,especiallythosecausedbyhumaninterventioninsuchsystems.Increasingly,modelsareanintegralpartofwaterresourcesassessment,protectionandrestorationstudies,andprovideessentialandcost-effectivesupportforplanningandscreeningofalternativepolicies,regulations,andengineeringdesignsaffectinggroundwater.Therearemanydifferentground-watermodelingcodesavailable,eachwiththeirowncapabilities,operationalcharacteristics,andlimitations.Ifmodelingisconsideredforaproject,itisimportanttodetermineifaparticularcodeisappropriateforthatproject,orifacodeexiststhatcanperformthesimulationsrequiredintheproject.Inpractice,itisoftendifficulttodeterminethecapabilities,operationalcharacteristics,andlimitationsofaparticularground-watermodelingcodefromthedocumentation,orevenimpossiblewithoutactualrunningthecodeforsituationsrelevanttotheprojectforwhichacodeistobeselectedduetoincompleteness,poororganization,orincorrectnessofacode''sdocumentation.Systematicandcomprehensivedescriptionofacode''sfeaturesbasedonaninformativeclassificationprovidesthenecessarybasisforefficientselectionofaground-watermodelingcodeforaparticularprojectorforthedeterminationthatnosuchcodeexists.Thisguideisintendedtoencouragecorrectness,consistency,andcompletenessinthedescriptionofthefunctions,capabilities,andlimitationsofanexistingground-watermodelingcodethroughtheformulationofacodeclassificationsystemandthepresentationofcodedescriptionguidelines.1.1Thisguidepresentsasystematicapproachtotheclassificationanddescriptionofcomputercodesusedinground-watermodeling.Duetothecomplexnatureoffluidflowandbioticandchemicaltransportinthesubsurface,manydifferenttypesofground-watermodelingcodesexist,eachhavingspecificcapabilitiesandlimitations.Determiningthemostappropriatecodeforaparticularapplicationrequiresathoroughanalysisoftheproblemathandandtherequiredandavailableresources,aswellasadetaileddescriptionofthefunctionalityofpotentiallyapplicablecodes.1.2Typically,ground-watermodelingcodesarenonparameterizedmathematicaldescriptionsofthecausalrelationshipsamongselectedcomponentsoftheaqueoussubsurfaceandthechemicalandbiologicalprocessestakingplaceinthesesystems.Manyofthesecodesfocusonthepresenceandmovementofwater,dissolvedchemicalspeciesandbiota,eitherunderfullyorpartiallysaturatedconditions,oracombinationoftheseconditions.Othercodeshandlethejointmovementofwaterandotherfluids,eitherasagasoranonaqueousphaseliquid,orboth,andthecomplexphasetransfersthatmighttakeplacebetweenthem.Somecodeshandleinteractionsbetweentheaqueoussubsurface(forexample,aground-watersystem)andothercomponentsofthehydrologicsystemorwithnonaqueouscomponentsoftheenvironment.1.3Theclassificationprotocolisbasedonananalysisofthemajorfunctiongroupspresentinground-watermodelingcodes.Additionalcodefunctionsandfeaturesmaybeidentifiedindeterminingthefunctionalityofacode.Acompletedescriptionofacode''sfunctionalitycontainsthedetailsnecessarytounderstandthecapabilitiesandpotentialuseofaground-watermodelingcode.Tablesareprovidedwithexplanationsandexamplesoffunctionsandfunctiongroupsforselectedtypesofcodes.Consistentuseofthedesc......
