【摘要】:ThisrecommendedpracticefurnishesdirectionsforthesamplingofwoolofthevariousformsindicatedinSection1,inorderthatcorrectprobabilitystatementsmaybemadeabouttherelationshipbetweenthesamplemeanandthepopulationmean.Ifthesestatementsaretobecorrect,certainconditions,whicharestated,musthold.Thisrecommendedpracticerequiresthatadeliberateactofrandomizationbeperformedsothatallpotentialsamplingunitshaveapproximatelythesamechanceofbeingtakenandnosamplingunitisdeprivedofitschanceofbeingtaken.Inanycasewhereinsufficientinformationaboutthevariabilityofthesamplingunitswithinthelotisavailable,directionsaregivenforcalculatingconfidencelimitsforthesamplemeansothatacorrectprobabilitystatementcanstillbemade.1.1Thispracticecoversthedesignofasamplingplantobeusedtoobtainsamplesforthedeterminationofthemoisturecontentofgreasewool,scouredwool,cardedwool,garnettedwool,wooltopandintermediateproducts,androvings.1.2Directionsaregivenforthedesignationofsamplingunits,calculationofthenumberofsamplingunitsrequiredtoachieveapreselectedprecisionandconfidencelevelor,alternatively,forcalculatingtheconfidencelimitsforthemeanbasedonthevariabilityofthesampletested.Note18212;ThispracticefordevisingasamplingplanisintendedforuseinconnectionwithTestMethodD1576orTestMethodD2462.ThesamplingofrawwoolforthedeterminationofcleanwoolfiberpresentiscoveredinPracticeD1060.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
