【摘要】:Factorsgoverningselectionofamethodforthedeterminationofuraniumincludeavailablequantityofsample,homogeneityofmaterialsampled,samplepurity,desiredlevelofreliability,andfacilityavailableequipment.ThisuraniumassaymethodisreferencedintheTestMethodsforChemical,MassSpectrometric,andSpectrochemicalAnalysisofNuclear-GradeUraniumDioxidePowdersandPellets(TestMethodsC696)andintheTestMethodsforChemical,MassSpectrometric,andSpectrochemical,Nuclear,andRadiochemicalAnalysisofNuclear-GradeUranylNitrateSolutions(TestMethodsC799).Thisuraniumassaymethodmayalsobeusedforuraniumhexafluorideanduraniumoreconcentrate.Thistestmethoddetermines20to200mgofuranium;isapplicabletoproduct,fuel,andscrapmaterialafterthematerialisdissolved;istoleranttowardsmostmetallicimpurityelementsusuallyspecifiedinproductandfuel;andusesnospecialequipment.Theruggednessofthetitrationmethodhasbeenstudiedforboththevolumetric(6)andtheweight(7)titrationofuraniumwithdichromate.CommitteeC26SafeguardsStatement:4.4.1Thematerials(nucleargradeuraniuminproduct,fuel,andscrap)towhichthistestmethodappliesaresubjecttonuclearsafeguardregulationsgoverningtheirpossessionanduse.TheanalyticalmethodinthisstandardmeetsU.S.DepartmentofEnergyguidelinesforacceptabilityofameasurementmethodforgenerationofsafeguardsaccountabilitymeasurementdata.4.4.2Whenusedinconjunctionwiththeappropriatecertifiedreferencematerials(SRM6orCRM),thisprocedurecandemonstratetraceabilitytothenationalmeasurementbase.However,useofthetestmethoddoesnotautomaticallyguaranteeregulatoryacceptanceoftheresultingsafeguardsmeasurements.Itremainsthesoleresponsibilityoftheuserofthistestmethodtoassurethatitsapplicationtosafeguardshastheapprovaloftheproperregulatoryauthorities.1.1Thistestmethod,commonlyreferredtoastheModifiedDaviesandGraytechnique,coversthetitrationofuraniuminproduct,fuel,andscrapmaterialsafterthematerialisdissolved.Thetestmethodisversatileandhasbeenruggednesstested.Withappropriatesamplepreparation,thistestmethodcangivepreciseandunbiaseduraniumassaysoverawidevarietyofmaterialtypes(1,2).DetailsofthetitrationprocedureinthepresenceofplutoniumwithappropriatemodificationsaregiveninTestMethodC1204.1.2Uraniumlevelstitratedareusually20to50mg,butupto200mguraniumcanbetitratedusingthereagentvolumesstatedinthistestmethod.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafeguardandsafetyprecautionstatements,seeSection.
